BMW's secondary air system is a notorious achilles heel on the E46 platform. For cars without catalytic converters, the EGR system becomes irrelevant and its deletion provides a great opportunity to shed weight and eliminate an unnecessary, cumbersome component.
When removing the air pump valve from the head, the port is left open that needs to be blocked off. Fall-Line Motorsports has developed a block-off plate for Future Classic to achieve just that—but also includes a clever mount to properly secure the heater core. This is actually a factory BMW part and includes a new steel gasket to the head. It will slide over the existing studs and secure with the existing nuts.
