The E36 / E46 M3's factory rear trailing arm bushing is very large. As a substantial piece of flexible rubber, it is prone to significant deflection under load. The results is most certainly unwanted geometry change, steering wobble under braking, and even hysteresis of the thrust arm in some cases.
